Does an extension give me more time to pay what I owe the IRS?
Filing an extension only gives you extra time to file your return — not extra time to pay the amount owed.
Once the IRS receives your payment, they will send a letter showing penalties and interest. You can reduce charges by filing and paying as early as possible.

How much will my return cost?
Most individual returns land between $250–$750; business returns typically range $650–$1,800 depending on forms and states. We confirm a range after intake before we start.
Can everything be done remotely?
Yes. Secure upload and e-sign handle documents and approvals. We can still meet in Commerce by appointment if you prefer in-person.
How long do you keep my documents?
We retain working papers and a PDF copy of your return for at least 7 years. You can request another copy anytime.
Do you handle Georgia sales tax and payroll filings?
Yes. We register accounts, file sales and use tax where applicable, and run payroll with quarterly/annual filings plus W-2/1099 delivery.
What should I do if I receive an IRS or Georgia notice?
Do not ignore it. Forward the notice to us right away. We review the letter, identify the issue, check your records, and prepare a response before the deadline. Our Enrolled Agents represent you directly with the IRS.
What is an Enrolled Agent and how does that benefit me?
An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally licensed tax professional credentialed by the IRS. EAs can represent any taxpayer before any IRS division, including audits, collections, and appeals. We have two EAs on staff: Pat and Renee.
How quickly can you set up payroll for my business?
Typical onboarding takes 3–5 business days once we receive your intake documents and prior payroll data. We set up withholdings, direct deposit, and filing calendars from the first cycle.
Do you offer monthly bookkeeping or just tax preparation?
We offer both. Our monthly bookkeeping includes bank reconciliation, transaction categorization, payroll reconciliation, and financial reporting — all structured to feed directly into tax preparation and estimated payments.
Can you help me start an LLC or S Corp in Georgia?
Yes. We guide entity selection, prepare Georgia registration documents, set up bookkeeping and payroll, and make sure your first tax period starts on a clean foundation.
Do you file returns for multiple states?
Yes. We prepare Georgia returns plus additional state filings for individuals and businesses — common for remote workers, business travelers, and those with out-of-state rental income.
What if my bookkeeping is several months behind?
We start with a cleanup of your records, prioritizing current compliance deadlines. Then we transition you into a recurring monthly close process to keep your books current going forward.
Do I need to come to your office or can I send everything online?
Everything can be handled remotely through our secure upload portal and e-sign. We also offer in-person appointments at our Commerce office.
What areas do you serve besides Commerce?
We serve clients in Athens, Jefferson, Gainesville, Toccoa, the Atlanta Metro area, and towns across Jackson, Banks, Hall, Clarke, Madison, and Stephens counties. Remote clients throughout Georgia are welcome.
Can you help with quarterly estimated tax payments?
Yes. We calculate and file federal and Georgia estimated payment vouchers for individuals and businesses. We review your estimates each quarter and adjust them based on income changes.
